Dr. Margie Smith is more than just a doctor of chiropractic. She is a wife, a mama to three girls, an invested community member and a friend to each patient who finds their way to her office! Since 2004, Dr. Margie has been partnering with families to provide personal, holistic care that goes beyond the typical chiropractic experience - you won’t be shuffled in and out of a crowded office, feeling rushed to express your needs. Dr. Margie intentionally creates ample time for each appointment, ensuring her patients walk away feeling heard when expressing concerns and empowered by the knowledge Dr. Margie freely gives.
Dr. Margie SmithIn her career, Dr. Margie has had three successful practices which she has started from the ground up - Chicago, San Diego, and now Granite Bay, CA. Dr. Margie and her family moved to Granite Bay in 2015 where they are a very active part of the local community. Patients will often see Dr. Margie and her family at local events, sports, and volunteering at school functions.

Her current practice in Granite Bay has been, by far, her most enjoyable! She sees patients who are focused on their overall health and wellness and are seeking natural methods of health care. Yes...Dr. Margie is a chiropractor first and foremost and adjusts all of her patients. In addition, she offers so much more - patients can always consult with Dr. Margie about natural options when navigating sick kiddos, injuries, and staying healthy and well. Patients always appreciate her “hippity dippity” methods and recommendations.

Dr. Margie began her chiropractic career in her first practice in downtown Chicago (also her hometown). She had a busy practice, seeing patients with a variety of conditions. It was in this practice many parents began to bring their children to Dr. Margie. Through her gentle touch and calm demeanor with children, she saw amazing results with her pediatric patients. One child’s ADHD symptoms began to diminish, one 12-year old child stopped wetting her bed at night, and another 1-year old boy’s ear infection symptoms cleared after one adjustment. Did chiropractic treat these specific conditions? No - a chiropractic adjustment helps restore normal function in body overall, thus leading the body to heal faster and function better. After these and many more amazing experiences with children in her practice, Dr. Margie began pursuing a specialized certification in chiropractic pediatric care so she could learn more and better serve entire families in her practice.

Dr. Margie completed this ICPA certification in 2012, which included 180 hours of educational and hands on seminar work. In addition to a deeper understanding of a child’s needs, Dr. Margie is also Webster Technique certified - this is a specialized technique for optimal pelvic positioning during pregnancy thus allowing a happy pregnancy and labor/delivery.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Margie’s hobbies include cooking (lots of Paleo recipes lately!), gardening, reading, practicing yoga, and running. Dr. Margie has been married to her college sweetheart, Lauren Smith, since 2004, and they have three amazingly fun and sweet girls - they have lots of princess dress up and tea parties happening at their home on a regular basis!

“I’m thrilled to live and be involved in the Granite Bay community! I look forward to meeting you and your family - if I can be of service to you all, please let us know!” ~Dr. Margie
